The Warren Board of Selectmen invites you to a Public Hearing on Monday, December 9, 2024, to discuss an important financial and public safety matter that directly impacts our community.
The purpose of this hearing is to gather public input before the Board votes on whether to request the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue Administration to grant the Town permission to expend funds in excess of the appropriation authorized at our March 12, 2024, Town Meeting.
This request is driven by an unforeseen and urgent funding need submitted by the Warren Wentworth Ambulance Service (WWAS). WWAS has requested $150,000 in emergency funding to ensure continued ambulance service through March 2025. This unexpected request requires the Town's consideration of applying to the State for permission to exceed our current fiscal year’s budget.
Looking ahead, the anticipated municipal funding request for ambulance services in 2025 is expected to rise significantly to $300,000, equating to approximately $2.75 per $1,000 of property valuation, compared to $1.26 per $1,000 ($138,553) in the previous year.
Date: Monday, December 9, 2024
Time: 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Location: Warren Town Hall, 19 Water St., Warren, NH 03279
We encourage all residents to attend this hearing to share their thoughts and ask questions. If you cannot attend the entire hearing, feel free to drop in at any time. The Board will be available for at least one hour to ensure opportunity for participation.
